Hiya. I'm making a list of places I'd like to visit in North America. I've already got Florida, NY and Washington on my list (for various reasons!), but what else, in your opinion, shouldn't I miss, and why?! Ideally it would need to appeal to the whole family - 2 adults, and two girls, 10 and 2 years. Thanks for your help!

In Florida, I live in the east, middle of the state.
I can drive ANYWHERE in Florida, in less than 5 hours. The farthest south, the farthest north, the west coast. All up to 5 hours drive from my house.

If you lived on the inland side of California, how long to drive to the ocean? Drive to the top, drive to the bottom? of California.

the husband and I want to move to Alaska, when the kids are grown, to get away from the lower 48, and to start over, so to speak. We have always wanted to live there, but I don't like the cold, so much, but want to be away from those who may try to do us harm. basically we just want to start over, no kids, no troubles, no BS. What do we need? How to prepare? what to take with us? What not to take? ( obviously, no swimsuits or suntan oil!!) We want to go because we would love to see wildlife, ( I love wolves!) and we want to get away from it all. Any suggestions?? Serious answers please, and preferreably those who have lived there, ok??

I am looking at taking the family to Yellowstone this summer and was wondering how many days we need to spend there to take in the sights? Also, what are the must sees of Yellowstone? I do have 2 small children (so the long hikes are probably out).
