Depends on what you like. I've lived both places (Manhattan, West LA and Hollywood). New York is a real city with amazing culture, millions of things to do, easy to get around with cab or train any time of day or night. LA is almost impossible to get around without a car (unless you enjoy buses), and in your car you'll spend most of your life. There are cool things about LA, like the ocean...but also it's racked with the madness of 'the business'...everyone seems to have a script or is an actor waiting for their big break, it's pretty annoying. but maybe you like that sort of thing? My vote hands down in NYC.

I been to both and i think NYC because it has much more beautiful scene to me. I like it there. I think you would like NYC more. Have Fun if you are going on a trip.

I've been to both and recently left L.A., so I'd also have to say N.Y...like to go back.
