How long is California?

In Florida, I live in the east, middle of the state.
I can drive ANYWHERE in Florida, in less than 5 hours. The farthest south, the farthest north, the west coast. All up to 5 hours drive from my house.

If you lived on the inland side of California, how long to drive to the ocean? Drive to the top, drive to the bottom? of California.

About 5 hours from LA to the Nevada border on the way to Vegas.

From the Mexican border to the Oregon border. Almost exactly 800 miles and about 12 and one half hours by car.
