From what I can gather, the UK is part of the Visa Waiver Program so you don't need a visa to the USA if you are going on holiday for less than 3 months. If I wanted a visa it would be denied if I had a criminal record. But I can't find any info about whether or not you can holiday in the USA for less than 3 months if you have a criminal record. It may be that you just need to declare it and they still let you in as long as you have a return flight booked within the 90 day timescale. I would be very grateful for any advice on this matter!

My husband and I are born and raised in Utah. And when we were younger, we were both in the mormon church and active. But, as time has gone by, we have become inactive and more spiritual than religious.
Without going into detail, we have had some really BAD experiences since being married and having our children that has caused us to go away from the church.
We are both licensed professionals in the fields we are in and have both got over 20 years experience.
However, as you know if you live in Utah, it's hard to find a good job that pays well with good job security in this state. And if you want to work for the private businesses, most of them are owned by active Mormons. And if you are not "in the club" anymore it effects, promotions, raises, and just how you are basically treated on the job. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?

I am debating between moving to two cities! Both have the type of school I am looking for, so I am just interested on hearing anything about the two from those of you who have lived in or visited either! I want to know everything...weather, college life, beaches, parks, etc. Which one should I choose?? A side question.... Is there much of a college life in Watertown, NY?

Where are the best places to visit along the Coastal highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles?

After a few days in San Francisco we are planing 1 night in Monterey, 1 night in San Simeon and then 1 night at Santa Barbara, with each day broken up with sightseeing, ending up with a few days in Anaheim. This looks like an evenly split journey any advice?

Two places I have been told of are Big Sur and Hearst Castle are these suitable highlights on the route?

My wife and I are going on a trip touring around California and Las Vegas I am hoping to obtain some advice on tipping so that we can be suitably prepared. I have already found questions and answers here which refer to us Brits as lousy tippers, what should we know about tipping so as not to cause offence?

What is the best way to judge without tipping too little or too much? I expect meals are fairly easy to tip as a percentage of the bill but what about hotel staff like porters, parking valets and bar tenders? When tipping a valet do you give the tip when you drop-off the car, when you collect it or both?

This is to be the first time we are are driving in the US too, so is tipping expected at petrol stations and again to what amount?

Has anyone heard of what they are planning to do in Florida?

They are thinking of making adding the highest sales tax in the country in Florida (somewhere around 8 or 9 percent) and eliminating the property tax. For those who live or dont live in Florida, what are your thoughts about that?

My budget is $170, max. I don't mind staying across the street from the beach, just as long as it's within walking distance of the beach. All I can find online are hotel chains, and it's hard to pinpoint any of the smaller hotels using online searches like Travelocity or Orbitz. If you can give me a phone number too, that would be awesome, thanks!
