Just wondering , cus I'm in that situation and its sucks trying to get used to it.

It's not surprising. I mean, California is known for it's somewhat liberal stance, while Texas is a conservative enclave.

Best thing to do is to just try and deal with it. Don't act arrogant about people, and treat them politely and fairly. Texas'll eventually grow on you. It's a nice place to live. It's different from California, but not worse.

I, too, am from California. I've lived in many places around the world, but absolutely love Texas. The people here are nice and friendly -- the pace is definitely slower than it was in the Bay Area where the key focus seemed to be racing to get the next buck.

I've found that in joining a few local organizations, the other folks involved have been more than welcoming and patient at my 'strange' ways. :)

I never lived in California but I just moved from COlorado to Texas.
