Disregarding where you live, what city in the United States could you visit many times and never get tired of? For me, I loved New Orleans. The city has so much life and history intertwined and even though there were tourist traps, for the most part people are friendly. It's like a different world, but very inviting at the same time.

My wife and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary this coming weekend and have made reservations in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We visit the area about once per year, but we usually do the same old stuff (walk through Gatlinburg, drive through some of the Great Smoky Mtn. Nat'l Park, see a show or two, etc.). I was just wondering if anybody has found anything really interesting in this area for adults to do other than the shows, shopping, and park. If you like the shows, which one do you think is the best? Any restaurants that you wouldn't want to miss out on? (Personally, we have to visit the Apple Barn restaurant every time we go!) Thanks in advance!

Well,I live in Italy and am planning to visit the USA.Probably it will be in the late spring or early fall when the daytime is still long.I want to visit Los Angeles,San Francisco and New York.Obviously there are many more places I'd like to go to but I don't want it to be too stressful.I think it will last almost 3 weeks and I'm gonna stay in cheap hotels,I just need a room on my own,I don't need anything luxurious. . .To eat I guess i will go to some fast food, restaurants, cafes etc so I won't spend a fortune.I'm also planning on not booking hotels from Italy but to do it once there.
Please, could you tell me approximately how much in dollars it might cost me?And do you think it's a good idea to find a place where to sleep directly on the spot?Any recommendation would be highly appreciated,in particular if you come up with something I haven't considered.
Thanks a lot and greetings from Italy.

america. We are going to Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, Cleveland, New York and Washington DC. I am worried about the high crime rates in america and the gun laws which don't seem very strict. Is my family relatively safe? I feel completely safe in america. we have only ever travelled to parts of asia as a family.

My family and I (3 kids and parents(5 of us) are going from Australia to USA for a holiday/vacation.

We can either spend 3 nights in Chicago and 5 nights in Boston or 4 nights in Chicago and 4 nights in Boston. What should we do? We are spending 3 nights in Sandusky, Ohio so we get nearly 3 full days at Cedar Point.

Also should we spend 2 or 3 nights in New Braunfels Texas (at schlitterbahn area). Should we spend 3 nights in New Braunfels and 2 nights in HOuston or 2 night in New Braunfels and 3 nights in Houston?

Also, is 5 days enough in New York (we have limited time...less than 4 weeks in the US) in July.

Should we fly or take the train from Boston to New York and New York to Washington DC?

Please help us.

We pass thru St. louis a couple/three times a year on our way to Indiana and wonder...Is there something special we should be looking for just off ofI-70, pretty much fastfood---but not the norm! I'd love to be able to take the kids to something different that will not kill our budget! Thanks!

I need to be within about 30 minutes of the airport. We are also looking for a 2+ bedroom rental house (about $800/month budget) with a yard. Would like a private/quiet location if possible. Access to a park or outdoor/recreational area is a plus. We are not Mormons.

I'm a huge "Wire" fan, and I'm going to visit Alexandria, VA. While we are there, we are planning to go to Baltimore to see the places where they film the show, and I've heard a lot of negative things about Baltimore. Is this a good or bad idea? (Please only answer if you've actually been to Baltimore's inner-city or live there.)

We are coming from Australia for a holiday/vacation in July.

JetBlue has had a rough year (it made some quartly profit losses due to fuel prices going up etc) do you think it will still be around in July? What other airlines are good?

Do they all have built in TVs in Continental, American etc?
Does continental airlines overbook flights? We will have a relatively tight schedule (only coming for 4 weeks...kids school...we only have a 2 and a half week school holiday then...we have our long holidays in our summer at the end of the year (December and January).

What airlines (which are safe) would you recommend? How long do you usually have to be at the airport for domestic flights in USA?

We will be flying probably continental from Los Angeles to Houston and Houston to Chicago and maybe continental from Chicago to Cleveland. We were hoping to fly Jet Blue from Cleveland to Boston and Boston to New York and also New York to Washington DC and also possibly JetBlue from Washing
