We pass thru St. louis a couple/three times a year on our way to Indiana and wonder...Is there something special we should be looking for just off ofI-70, pretty much fastfood---but not the norm! I'd love to be able to take the kids to something different that will not kill our budget! Thanks!

Sounds like you are just looking for places to eat, correct? It's hard to know what would be unique to you without knowing where you're coming from. I live in DC now and I miss Sonic, Panera, Steak 'n Shake, and Imo's pizza, but the only one of those that is special to St. Louis is Imo's.

If you're not just looking for places to eat, check out the St. Louis zoo. It's free.

they have a wonderful children's museum their is a fee, but it's worth it. Also the Planetarium and Science Museum is only a couple miles from the down town area and most of it is free.
