I'm looking for a resort-type place (someplace that would be warm in the winter), along the southern East Coast (possibly North/South Carolina). It would also be nice if it was within a day's drive of Washington, D.C. Is this even possible???

If so, why? I love the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in northern, lower Michigan. The sanddunes and Lake Michigan and Glen Lake take my breath away every time I visit. What's your favorite park?
