Newport News Virginia Recommendations?

I'll be attending a school down there for 3 months and just wanted to see if anyone had any reccomendations for things to do, night life, etc. I'm 26 so things with alcohol are reccomended. Also, does anyone need a friend?

I've been out of that area for a year, but you should have no problem finding some nightlife--it isn't New York, but there is plenty there. One thing I'd recommend is taking advantage of Virginia Beach--as soon as it gets warm there are free concerts just about every weekend, and its a pretty nice beach that doesn't cost a fortune to bring a date to.
