My husband and I are looking to move to San Antonio Texas, We have lived in Utah all of our lives and my husband and I want to stretch our roots and go some where else. So I am wondering how long it takes to become a resident of Texas and how you go about getting your residency?

How long do you need to live in Texas before you can get your Texas drivers license?

Once you start living in Texas and obtain a Texas drivers license you are a resident of Texas. We may think and act like we're a separate country, but we're not (anymore). Most Texans aren't native, but transplants.

That depends, if your a Yankee you'd better have a passport, and you'll need to fill out some forms and take an exam on true American history.. No seriously as far as the State Govt. is concerned you are a resident as soon as you get your texas Drivers License. The college however will probably require you to have been living in Texas at least one year.
