You don't have to list the "obvious" places, such as Empire State Building, Central Park, and things like that...I was interested in popular stores and sites, such as ones frequented by celebrities, or ones that are popular otherwise...any opinions will help....thank you!!!

Today, I enter a Bronx station and my Metro Card was having problems. I go to the station clerk for help. The clerk is fast asleep with his head leaned back and mouth open. I tapped on the glass to get his attention and he jumps up, startled from his nap.

So, I ask him for his help and he starts yelling at me that my problem is that I didn't pay the fare. He wouldn't even let me address my concern. He continued to refuse to help me and proceeds to help a person behind me. He refused to give me help or even look at my Metrocard. I asked for his name. He refused to give me his name and says, "How about I give you a picture? Will that help?" (sarcastically) Also, he followed me onto the platform and continues to verbally harass me amidst other passengers.

I have never encountered anything like this before. I don't know why this man was completely unprofessional and hostile toward me but I want to file a complaint that doesn't fall on deaf ears. What to do?

I am taking my boyfriend on a carriage ride in central park in new york city as a suprise. Do I call for reservation or just show up? And where do I go? And how many people per ride can fit in the carriage? And I saw somewhere that it is $34 for 20 minutes. Is that per person or just per ride? ANy information about the carriage rides in central park would be great. We are going in late December

I am planning a trip to New York from January 3rd thru the 7th. Is it too cold (Im from Texas)? Is this a bad time to visit? I have never been and I am wondering if it's worth my time and money to visit during this time of year. Any suggestions on what there is to do and see? How much money should I take?

Im taking a quick weekend trip up to New York for my birthday. Ill be there from the 14th to the 17th of Dec. I dont have many plans for while Im there. I mostly just want be there. But Im also running on a tight budget.

Iv only got about $700/750 dollars to pay for the plane ticket and the hotel. Travelocity has been pretty nice, but I still need to pick a hotel that has transportation (like close access to the subway), or that I can walk to a few attractions from, I suppose.

Im just wondering what neighborhoods would you recommend?

(Theres a Red Carpet Inn in Brooklyn with a subway station right next to it for the L train... mixed reviews... Anyone know about it?)

What are some cheep attractions?

How much does a taxi generally cost? And how much for the subway?

I would appreciate any travel tips for New York really. Thanks for your time.

My boyfriend and I are living in Washington, DC at the moment but we are so tired of this area. My boyfriend is a singer and was signed with Sony Urban when he was going back and forth from DC to NY but the deal fell through.

We are thinking of moving to New Jersey... possibly the Jersey City area or the Bergenfield area... somewhere close to NYC but not directly in the city cause it is too expensive to live there. How much on average would a two bedroom apartment cost us monthly in these areas of New Jersey?

I have looked on Craigslist and sublet.com and they are not that expensive, but i was wonderind how much it would be to go through an actual rental property. My boyfriend and I make a combined income of about $80,000 right now. How bad of a blow would this be to us?

Hi, I plan to go to New York City in a few weeks, and I have never been there before. Can anyone make suggestions for me to keep in mind in the Big Apple? What is your favorite attraction there? I only have a day, and I need to make the best of it!
