You don't have to list the "obvious" places, such as Empire State Building, Central Park, and things like that...I was interested in popular stores and sites, such as ones frequented by celebrities, or ones that are popular otherwise...any opinions will help....thank you!!!

If you know the general address too, that will help (such as the street name)

popular stores are up and down 5th avenue, between 39th street (Lord's and Taylors) to 59th street (FAO Schwartz). People also go victoria secret on 34th street, which right across the street from macy's (you can't miss it; shrek is the mascot this year) and there is a h & m store nearby

Bloomingdales has always been a #1 choice of New York Shoppers. 9 Floors with everything you can think of from fashionable clothing, great shoes, a wonderful furniutre floor, and great cosmetics, jewelry and accessories. I love Bloomie's.

Another neat place to go is Serendipity, since the 60's it has been serving up serious ice cream specialties, located at 225 East 60th Street you should definitely try it, if you haven't been.

You might want to try

For a little culture, try the Frick Museum, not your average museum, but a small shot of culture on Fifth Avenue that is very popular.

American Girl Place is a cool place if you have any interest in dolls, it's really fun to see these wonderful historical dolls, there is also a cafe and bookstore.

Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue at 57th, is a series of boutiques with everything you can think of and you might see any number of famous stars shopping there. Have fun!
