worked in midtown Manhattan? Which would have the cheapest commute? Which place has the lower cost of living?
Any other comparisons between the two places would be appreciated.

Hoboken. Much closer commute and less suburban feel.
But that's for me, not necessarily for you. If you *wanted* the suburban/SUV/big box retailer lifestyle, Nassau might be the better fit.

I say Nassau couty. I like the suburban feel and having a yard. Schools are very good there too, if you have kids. The commute will be longer from Nassua county, thus more expensive, but worth it. Nassua county also has the highest cost of living. So, Hoboken might be for you if you don't have kids.
