agree with over $100, and i think that would include the tip. i believe a trip outside NYC would be a flat rate, rather than metered, and there may be other surcharges as well. you should check out http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/passenger/taxicab_rate.shtml to get an idea.

Just asked a NY taxi driver and he reckons it would be nearer 140 bucks and would be upfront too incase of problems...... This would include tunnels etc but not a tip which is usually around the 15% mark so 161 in total.....

It will cost you by the mile plus you have to pay for tolls and stuff like that. I would agree with the near $100, but if I were you, I'd take the subway (or train, as they call it). Much cheaper and much quicker!!
