Well my mom and I stayed in a hotel (and we've always had a bit of a 6th sense) and some freaky stuff was happening, and I went to their website but the problem is its a large chain of hotels so I can't figure out how to research an individual one.

I live 11 miles from work and it takes me almost an hour and a half to get there. I might kill myself one of these days.

I'm new to the Boston area and I would like to be able to use the T. However, I'm not used to it. Can you please tell me how the T works, how it stops and what I should do? Also, when you get to your destination, how do you know that you got there?

I never used the T before...

Thanks

I recently finished university degrees in business and finance and am thinking about moving to Boston.

Is Boston's economy strong right now? Is it relatively easy to land a decent job or is there extreme competition for every available position? Do the available jobs tend to be good enough to make up for the high cost of living there?

I've been in places where jobs were plentiful (e.g. Raleigh) and places where they were scarce (e.g. Portland, OR), but I have no idea what Boston is like right now.

Thanks!

More specifically...
I will be flying into Manchester and I need to get to a suburb of Boston, Middleboro. I will have NO car!
There is a Manchester free Shuttle but I'm a country girl and feel uncomfortable taking a three different subway rides, shuttle buses and commuter rails. What would be the easiest way?
Is there a bus that goes from Manchester to Providence? Or from Manchester to the south train line?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks,
Jessi (and my 8 month old son who will be travelling with me... that makes it ten times harder, huh?)

We're going to be visitng NYC and Boston next week. I see that some of the days show scattered thunderstorms in each city. Here in So Cal, storms like that usually last about 2-3 days straight. I heard that summer rain storms on the east coast are quick and may only last about an hour, but come an go. If we meet up with any summer thunderstorms, about how long could we expect them to linger? I have tickets for both a Yankees and a Red Sox game and I'd hate to not be able to go to them.

I am trying to find a place somewhere in New England, preferably Central or Eastern MA or southern NH, where I could hold a function...

But it has to look southern. I mean like the big old plantation style homes with two level porches the length of the house, etc. Think Gone With the Wind.

The sort of place that hosts/allows weddings and the like.

Thanks!

Either in MA, RI or ME? Not looking so much for camping sites, though any camping directly on the sand of a beach would do.

But more of legal to have a bonfire, and sleep on the beach all night long without the rangers kicking you out? I know some places at the Cape arae good for it, but I have no clue for sure of where.

I'll be spending a weekend in downtown Boston and would like to find a place to park the truck and trailer that is not too far away. Wal-Marts won't work as you cannot leave a vehicle unattended. The closest place I found was a Super 8 in Weymouth, but I'm not sure if that's a decent area. We are willing to pay to keep it at someone's business.

I am currently staying in Boston with my husband and 2 daughters, and we are from Alabama. Everywhere we go people are giving us horrendous looks, bad glances, dirty stares, rude treatment at restaurants, etc. We are headed to New York in 2 days to finish our trip. I am hoping we do not have the same, horrible time we had here in Boston. Is this becuase we are from the South and have accents different from theirs? And are all New Englanders this awful?

I live 45 minutes west-ish of Boston, and I've been to this beach several times...I just can't remember the name. It's got big boulders on each end, and it's a popular beach. Any suggestions of what the name might be would be awesome.

i know seeing cape cod one one day is a no way . so where should we visit. We are in our mid twenties and like unique shops (not the regulars stores we can see anywhere) and great eateries. maybe an hour or two on the beach. and then back to just strolling around shopping and having a drink or two. so where to go? martha vineyard where ive heard that unique shops are a dime a dozen but more sspread out or p-town where its almost a carnival i hear. remember this is our first time so wanna make it worth it. any special events going on this weekend?
