It all really depends. Boston weather is known to change constantly, so it could depend on the day. It could be in the 40's but then in the 60's. Usually, the mornings start off very cold and it gets warmer by the end of the day. I'd dress in layers if I were you, have a t-shirt, and then a sweater, and then maybe a light jacket, but not a huge bulky one. Plus, if you are in Boston, it is right near the water, so it will be colder in the city. You should be fine in layers, plus it would be better than just one coat because then you don't have options.

It's hard to say. End of October is usually cold, but not giant heavy coat sort of cold. More like, sweaters and regular jackets. . . . It's hard to guess, because lately it's been very warm well into fall/winter. Check temperatures closer to when you'll actually be traveling.

The depends- most likely a fall coat usually does the trick. After all- kids are running around Boston in very light costumes on Halloween....

I'd have a rain coat or umbrella. Seems we always get a big rain storm within days of Halloween.
The weather can be very nice too.
The perfect storm (of the movie) happened on Halloween.

Just bring a warm fleece coat, a heavy sweater or long sleeves to wear with either. It is not warm in Oct. but it is not below zero where you have to wear down coats.

No. The average temp is anywhere from high 30's to 60's depending on the weather. Unless your used to super warm temps, a sweatshirt or light jacket should be sufficient.
