The North End is primarily Italian. The best Italian restaurants are all found in the North End. On Fridays they still have the "farm" push carts selling fresh fruits in the streets. It is great to see, very historic.

The North End. . . The South End is traditionally Irish. The North End is a great place to go for Italian food, and delicious bakeries.

It is the North End.

In reality that is not a long-time thing. The area has always had immigrant populations and there were other countries of origin that filled the area for generations before it became noticeably Italian.

However nowadays that is what group is there and many restaurants and shops that cater to residents and tourists give it a unique Italian appeal.
