Obviously the Haight-Ashbury area has changed a great deal since the late 60's and early 70's. I was just wondering if anyone has ever been there recently and knows whether it is nice or run down, etc.

Being here as a european guy on a business trip I will probably die of boredom... Well, there are so many museums... ugh! Some restaurants. Some malls. Some bookshops. Some more mediocrity. Nothing on the events calendar but some christmas singing... looks like one in a thousand medium-sized US city clones that ran off the mill... please, give me some reason to believe that I am wrong... HELP!

Times square is just a tourist trap filled with all chain joints. Do all you people coming to NYC stick to the times Sq. area? It is completely not representative of NYC.

I'm guessing that since they own most of thier locations, that the policies and whatnot would be the same for just about every location, so, maybe someone can maybe help. I'm making a semi-last minute decided trip to Philly since it's on my way home for the holiday season and my girlfriend lives up there...and I've just decided that things would be easier if i just got a motel room...however, after some identity problems, I'm currely lacking a credit card. Now..from what i can tell on the website, i am able to get a room without one, i'm only going to be there for a night..but i won't be getting up to philly area till about 11pm...should i expect any problems trying to get a room at that hour without a reservation. Oh, I'd make one, but it's only guarnteed till 6pm, which is I'm leaving DC. I know I could probably call the place and ask, but I thought I'd let ya'll have a crack at it..and 10 points.

Besides the entrepreneurs and celebrities, what do most of the people that live in NYC do as a job? I'm just curious because I was in New York City a few days ago and I would love to live there someday but it is so expensive... I want to get a job somewhere in IT and/or finance, and I think NYC offers jobs for that kind of stuff, correct?

I was in The Dixie National Forest in Utah at a campground. I had to stop to let my brakes cool down from all the darn mountains. I went to go pick up a pinecone when I heard a river. I told my husband to lock up the car because I wanted to go see it. It sounded like it was going to be a kinda long walk. Well, we walked about five feet and found our raging river. It was a tiny stream about a foot wide running through the grass. I couldn't believe my eyes or my ears. I automatically figured that this is what a babbling brook was. Mother Nature is funny.

I will attend BC in the fall of 2007 as a graduate business student. I have never been to Boston or anywhere near the vicinity.

As of now, I will be on a tight budget, and would like all utilities included. I’ve searched online and found some places that offer great deals, but they have longer commute times. I would like to be in the center of something...nightlife, activities, etc.

I'm in the process of saving money for the sole purpose of higher living expenses.

Any suggestions for neighborhoods? Apartments? Condos? House for rent?
