Comes between 28-33 blocks given the size of Times Square. If the weather is cool and comfortable, it's a great walk (walk up North in Times Square and you will run into Central Park South, so you'll get to see that as well). Will take 30-50 minutes walk depending on your pace (and if you want to window shop along the way)
Additionally, the hotel is near the 1/2-3 lines on the subway (the red lines). The 1 train is a local-stop train and you can get off at 42nd or 50th Streets. The 2 & 3 lines are express, and you go from 42nd St (Times Sq) to 72nd St (near Beacon hotel) with no in-between stops in a matter of minutes.

I just did a search for directions from the Beacon Hotel (2130 Broadway, is this correct?) to Times Square, and it says it is 1.9 miles.
