I'll be in Italy and was wondering what the Italian is for things such as Ibuprofen (pain reliever), Neosporin (antibacterial...for when you get cuts and scrapes or burns), band-aids, fever reducers and so forth. What are their names in Italy? What are the most popular brands for these items?

Also, another question. Is it cheaper to buy food at the open markets or at the bigger, super markets? I know that the food at the open markets would taste better though. And, in Rome does the public library have a small section that has books written in English? Or, is there a book store that has books in English?

Thanks for the help.

slang to say, "I am jonsing for some pesto" or less slang, "I am craving pesto." How would you say it in Italian when you feel a craving for something? In this case, pesto?

Can anyone suggest where online I can find good/budget vacation packages to Italy. I am looking to go with my girlfriend sometime in September and I would like to have airfare, hotel, and local transportation taken care of. Or at least hotel and airfare. However, I do not want to do any guided tours or group things. I would like to do things on our own. Would like to visit 3 different cities within a 10-14 day period, e.g. Florence, Rome, Venice. Most of the things I found online consist of guided or group tours. Also, if your suggesting based on a personal experience, details of your trip would be nice. Thanks.

I know that these scholars are very important in critical and poststructuralist theories. But I am very new to their work. I haven't taken any classes that introduce their work, but I'm very interested in learning about it. So what do you suggest to get started?

We are honeymooning there in August. We are going to pick two towns on the Italian Riviera after spending a few days around Nice, France. We are likely going to Santa Margherita near Portofino and I am thinking about San Remo. We would love some beautiful beaches. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks-PJ

chemical weapons are part of that family as well. i just find it surprising that when i talk to people about the war in Iraq the first thing they say is well he didn't have any WMD'S. when in fact he did he was trying to get his scud operation back in order. and our troops have found mass stock piles of chemical weapons over there. so why aren't people being taught that wmd is not just a nuke ?

Ok, he's asked me to go to Rome - I had to pay my half, but he's paying for all meals etc <>. With one breath he begs me to go and see him, with the other he says "don't read anything into this trip". Mr Scardey-Cat or what? If I can't make him admit he's smitten in Rome, I don't know where else I could try! Any ideas for romantic restaurants, sites, etc? Thanks!
