We are in the military, doing a PCS move for a family of 5 plus cat. I am looking for any help that can be offered in form of info. Just trying to get a heads up on the economy, tourist sites, and housing.

We are a military family doing a PCS move to Vicenza, Italy. Looking for info on housing, economy(EURO), travel, and the language(learning). Any and all info is greatly appreciated. However I am looking for responses that are pertinent to military life. We are reporting in June. Also any tips or advice offered is smiled upon.

Gas is more expensive here, expect at least double to what you're paying for now. The military more than likely will be helping you with housing. There have been demonstrations lately in front of the base in Vicenza, so hopefully that action will have died down by the time you get here.

Great to go to Venice, less than one hour, Garda lake, 40 minutes from Verona and not far from the Alps!
You'll love it!
Economy is based on small industries and gold industry, as jewel making, fairs and trades.
Housing is easy
