I am going to visit NY this summer and am going to visit Canada for the day. Last year when we went, I showed my i.d. and was given no problems. Do you need a passport to drive into Canada (right there at the border of Canada and Buffalo, NY) to spend a few hours? Will my i.d. and my childrens school i.d's and Birth Certificates or Shot Records suffice?

My wife and I are changing directions in how we vacation. We are going to the wilderness now to get away from it all. We want to go to British Columbia and the Yukon Territories of Canada. These two places are one the top of our list due to the beauty of the nature there. However, we will not hike in Grizzly country without protection. So what are the laws up there in the way of carrying a gun on hiking trips?

I live in Ottawa and pretty much everything is closed on Canada day. I'm going on vacation to Montreal, so I'm wondering if everything is closed on July 1st as well.

I can't believe the weather's been like this the past 10 days. Can someone tell me why it's 14C in Vancouver in June? It's supposed to be above 20, and sunny!

And Canadians hate to admit Canada's cold...

Does anyone else find Vancouver a depressing city?

Okay so I crossed the border yesterday as I always do every weekend and they actually gave me the interrogation, they hardly ever do that at this border crossing and usually let me go with out checking my id or anything...Anyways there were two new guys and they informed me that they can deny me entry if I have my camera with me because I am a photographer...I told them that I would get a business license in BC if I ever decided to work up there...As a photographer I take my camera with me everywhere...So my question is if I go up there to take pictures of like lets say a national park or something then come back down here and makes prints and sell them would that be doing business in Canada? I generally just take personal pictures when I am up there and have never done any work for any one up there...Secondly does any one know how I can get a business license in BC if I am not a resident or citizen...

I need this in Toronto or Durham, preferably East Toronto or Scarborough. Most of the components could be reused once the defective part is identified. I think it's ridiculous to fill up the landfill with things that can be recycled. I don't expect money for them.

contact person is Ms. Rachie Brian, who claims to be the manager of the said hotel. She instructed me to email her a scanned copy of my international passport and application form. She uses this ad www.plazahotel.ca. Then she instructed me to email a person for further instructions regarding visa processing.

I recently took a mini trip with a friend to Woodstock, New Brunswick (Canada). We had a great time, but found the alcohol interesting!

Everytime we ordered a drink, people had to double check recipe cards to make it. Things like Margarita's, Cosmopolitians, and martini's. We constantly were brought over index cards with recipes asking if it was right!

Is this part of New Brunswick just not a big cocktail place, or are some drinks in the States far more common than they are in Canada?

I live in Windsor and I like to drive over to Michigan but I just had my purse stolen with my birth certificate in it. I don't have a passport because I can cross the border by showing them my license and birth certificate. I've been trying to find out whether I can get across by showing them some other form of ID but I can't seem to find this info anywhere. Please inform me if you know.
