I am a Canadian citizen living in the UK. I do not seem to have a eligible guarantor to sign my passport application. What are the other options in this circumstance. Also I do not have a Canadian id card nor any other Canadian state issued documents, except my birth certificate. Will I be able to use my UK issued driving license as another proof of identity, or does it have to be issued by a Candain authority?

I've checked the Washington State Governement website and It doesn't seem to show any other departure point for Victoria. I was hoping to not have to drive over on the Ferrie but walk off the boat when it got there.

I know someone who is from Canada but is now living in the US. He says he can't cross the border from US to Canada. When I asked him why he said it was because he is in the process of becoming a US citizen.??? Something sounds funny!! What could be the real reason he can't go back and forth???

Hello,

MY wife and I are going for a honeymoon in Hawaii, and on the way back we want to visit at the Niagara falls - we have never been there...
We are looking for a good fallsview hotel in the Niagara falls, I visit both the Marriott and the Hilton hotels websites, from the pics there the view from Marriott seems better, but this pic can deceive.

Any recommendation will be appreciated...

I have a really urgent matter I have to take care of but I don't have a passport. I need it right away.

Does anyone know how I can get one?

I've been on the website and it said $70 for next working day passport for emergency and compassionate reasons.

How do they decide what is a compassionate reason?

Thanks so much!!

According to the information found on travel.state.gov, this is what I have found:

Children 16 and under traveling alone should carry a copy of their birth certificate, baptismal record or a hospital record of birth in the United States as well as the proof of passport application status from the Department of State (DOS) for departure from the United States as well as re-entry to the United States. Acceptable confirmation of a passport application may be found at the Department of State’s website at http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/status/status_2567.html.

Children older than 16 and traveling alone are required to have a government-issued photo ID in addition to the proof of passport application status.

I am 16, and will be traveling to Canada with the proof of passport by air, can I use a drivers licence instead of copy of birth certificate, even if I am in the 16 or under? Do they just mean a photocopy of the birth certifcate?

Thanks!

Thanks for any advice

Hi, does anyone have suggestions on how to spend a 2 weeks holiday going from Vancouver to Calgary in August? We haven't planned much yet, besides a day trip to Seattle and "wanting to see cowboys" in Calgary ;-) For the rest, we rely on inspiration and suggestions from friends. We know we will enjoy the drive and the scenery either way.
Is it worth going to Victoria island for a day trip or do you need to spend more time there? Vancouver island? Whistler, Banff, Jasper? Are there chances to spend a day horse back riding along the way?
Any ideas are much appreciated.
Thanks
Anja

I am an electrician in Seattle looking to relocate to Montreal. I make about $850 U.S. a week here and pay about $1000 U.S. a month in rent which I split with my girlfriend. I am not sure about the electricians wage in Montreal though. I will be receiving my Canadian citizenship at some point also (my father is Canadian). I also speak some french. so where would be the best spot to start living.

I'm thinking about driving up to Canada some time next year after I finish college. But I also want to see New Zealand too. It's hard for me to decide where I want to go since It's so hard to get any vacation time esp. as I get older. I live in Los Angeles. I would like to drive to all the Major Canadian provinces including Quebec, Ontario, BC, Sask, Manit, New Brun, Prince Edward Island, and so fourth. I do love road trips.

On the other hand I want to fly to Auckland. Rent a Holden Commodore and drive around Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Duniden, North End, etc. I want to take one of those scenic train rides in New Zealand.

I just can't decide where I should go first. I wish I could see both but I just don't have the time.

Which Country should I visit? Which one has the best foods? Which one is prettier to tour?

What would you recommend?

Does anyone know where to find the best package deals for Niagara Falls (on the NY side)? I am looking for a hotel that includes breakfast and/or dinner for at least one of the nights. And if possible any other attraction tickets or discount coupons? I found a few great package deals but they were for hotels on the Canadian side and we want the U.S. side.

Any suggestions would be great.

Hi...I'm leaving Australia shortly to spend at least 3 months in Canada. I will have no health insurance in Canada unless/until I spend 3 months in a province I think. I've looked into travel insurance and most only seem to cover accidents etc, but I want one that covers health generally, so if I get sick, I can see a Doctor.
Any idea where I can get this?
Thanks

Here are some of his contributions:

1. The GST. This tax is the reason why Canada is no longer in recession.

2. Free trade. It creates prosperity.

3. Meech and Charlottetown accords to defend a strong federalist Canada.
