Hi...I'm leaving Australia shortly to spend at least 3 months in Canada. I will have no health insurance in Canada unless/until I spend 3 months in a province I think. I've looked into travel insurance and most only seem to cover accidents etc, but I want one that covers health generally, so if I get sick, I can see a Doctor.
Any idea where I can get this?
Thanks

Try Blue Cross (or Blue Cross/Blue Shield). They're an international organization, with a lot of coverage for North America in general (including Canada and the US).

It's what we use when traveling, regardless of where we're going int he world.

The link ties you to the Canadian arm of Blue Cross ... which makes sense, since that's where you're headed.

Go to an insurance agent where you are. Thera are several International Health Insurance available. Must buy it in your country, since it is for a short stay.

I would definitely look at blue cross. My friend's husband is an american and got better health coverage with that here than he could in his own country.

Will your present insurance not cover you in Canada at least in the event of an emergency?

You might look at the following link for ideas of companies that do offer health insurance for travelers.
