This dude I know who's from Australia said he was picked up by a kangaroo when he was 6 years old. I think he said it happened in his backyard, but I can't remember exactly. He said that if the kangaroo would have leaned back onto his tail, that he could have been ripped to shreds or something like that.

Do you think he's telling the truth? Please only answer if you know something about Australia/kangaroos.

THANKS!

I'm wanting to go to Australia over Christmas and New Year for about three weeks with my husband.
We would like a stop over for one or two nights in Asia somewhere.
I've had a quick look on the internet but the flights seem really expensive. Has anyone got any experience and know any good websites? Will the flights get cheaper nearer the time or will we just have to stump up about £1200 each?

My partner and I are currently filling out our Visa application to live in Oz, We're a bit stuck though! It says you need a Skills Assessment from the relevent Authorised Agency.... Who are they? We have worked out we have 130 points from online forms but we need a proper form and I don't know where to turn! He's a welder so who do we get this Authorised Skills Assessment form from?

If a person was travelling there for a year on a working holiday visa what is the best way of dealing with it.

Would it be a good idea to open a bank account in OZ when you get there then transfer all of your saved money from your UK bank account to the AUS bank account?

How easy is it to open a bank account in OZ if you are a UK citizen just travelling there?

Anyone else done this and if so how did you deal with the money side of things?

hi there,
i was fascinated by the arrival of the USS Kittyhawk in Sydney Australia, but felt kind of jibed because i live in Brisbane and wanted to see the massive ship. But i was watching the news adverts on the TV today 10/07/07 (d/m/y) and i saw that it was comming to brisbane.

can someone tell me if this is true, where it is docking, and how long it is staying for as i would dearly love to go and see it. also i am unable to watch the news tonight as i have sporting commitments from 5.30-7.30

all answers much appreciated
thanks in anticipation
Katie

I will soon be a registered nurse in the UK and I am thinking about continuing my career in New South Wales, Australia. I was therefore wondering what the employment prospects were for foreign trained nurses in that area?

Also, how much does an average nurse in NSW earn yearly? and is it enough to live on?
