What is it like? I would love to visit, but never will. So sad that Steve Irwin has left us so tragically. Miss him much. Please tell me all. Am very interested.

The reason that I know I will never get there is because I live in America. Would never be able to afford the trip! To Elizabeth, thank you so much for your comment. That was so sweet!

Ive been there 3 times now and think its the best zoo Ive visited to in Australia (Ive also been to Melbourne, Tooronga & Healesville).
The first time I went I didnt think it would be my thing, I only went because my boyfriend wanted to. The croc shows were awesome and there were heaps of rangers on hand to talk to you about all of the animals. The last time I went there I took my mum and we spent the entire day going to the exhibition. At various points throughout the day a ranger will do a talk, show with each animal. Alot of these arent interactive in the same way as the croc show and may just be the ranger talking about the animals, their various personalities and quirks and explaining their behaviour.
We went to the croc show (ofcourse), koalas, water otters, birds of pray, giraffes, snakes, wombats, galapagos tortoise and the rest i cant remember but by the end of it we were exhausted. It really was a great day though.
Since my last visit I believe they have completed a major expansion so I think next time I go I'll have to spend two days there. :)

My family and I have been there many times and have enjoyed our visits very much. It's grown tremendously over the years.

Why don't you have a look at their website it's full of information and pictures. You might like to sign up for the monthly free e-newsletter. That way you can see what's happening from afar. You never know you might just get there one day. I hope you do.

No I haven't been there but would love to go more than anything...Something in your question confuses me though. Why won't you ever go if you would love to. Yeah it's expensive but I am babysitting 10 hrs a week and working a job just so I can go there. It would be a dream.

Pretty average, unless provoking critters for the amusement of the great unwashed is what interests you.
