Oh my god - ignore "sebcue" the answerer above now - what a total load of rubbish.
I lived in NZ for many years and loved it - people are great. I would recommend the South Island as it's more laid back as the North. I had a son born there. Never had any problems with anyone or anything in NZ. Well worth a visit!

I believe that Aussies generally have a good relationship with Kiwis. All the ones that I know are good people and I LOVE listening to their accent.
We are geographically close and that allows us to share quite a lot. Despite the ribbing that we give each other, it is all good natured and we will laugh off each others jibes and share a drink in the pub later (especially after a trans-Tasman sporting event).
We should give credit to New Zealand since they made huge sacrifices during the world wars and helped us create the legend of ANZAC.
One last thing - To the Kiwis - I hope you all aren't too sore about that underarm bowling incident. It was a bad call by a captain who wanted to win at all costs and he lost sight of the big picture.

Hi,I have traveled to NZ twice now though NZ is thousands of kl from Australia and is no part of NZ,we have always found kiwi's
make you very welcome and they are a "Proud" nation and love there heritage and have all the right to be.
They love there sport and there is always fierce composition with the Australia.
My perception? they have police stations,Goals like all country's the world over so they are no different in that light, but traveling the people I have met you could not wish for nicer people yes I can recommend the Kiwi's . I class Maoris and
white NZ as one people.
Hope this helps. Waltz.

New Zealanders are probalby the most friendly people I've ever met. They're also never afraid to speak their mind and have a rather strange but funny sense of humor

I lived in NZ for 5 years and I had some of my worst experience in my life there....nowhere else people are as ugly and cunning and mean as NZ.....although I have seen some very very beautiful people there.....but in general....they try to make the most of foreigners..rip off their money as much as they can....they live in small country and love to be the same as Europe and Australia but unfortunately because it is a small country most of their young people leave and this creates a big problem...the result is they do anything they can to keep their young people....as a result they do silly things to non-kiwis.....in a very cunning way....they have a sharp toung and can be very abusive....in general life in NZ is only good if you just have a short term stay....and mostly in bigger cities....people in small cities are really bad....they steal from you in day light and torture you by their own way of dealing with foreigners.....all nationalities will get their shares of abuse soon or later.....i had terrible experiences there and the worse thing is they are superficially very friendly...this makes a fool out of you and when they get to know you well...all your weaknesses and strong points they attack you....
