Northern Territory. Almost everyone is transient or has only lived there a few years. They tend to be very open and welcoming (provided you are not a wanker or a ********)

I am a Queenslander and have travelled to all states and territories. I would have to say that the Northern Territory is the friendliest! Spent a few weeks there on holidays and everyone was friendly and helpful.

I have travelled to all States and Territories and have lived in most. The country is friendlier than the cities but the cities are friendly anyway. I wouldn't put any city higher than any other except Hobart which is more like a country town as it is smaller than the others.

Wherever you go you will find friendly people. I couldn't really rank anywhere as better or worse than anywhere else.

Well I have heard a lot of people say that Western Australia is the friendliest.....okay, okay I'm from WA but I have traveled extensively through out Australia and still believe WA is a beautiful easy going friendly place to be. I believe its due to population size and the economics of the state.

We have a small population for a city, very isolated from the rest of the country. We are also very wealthy, with currently a very strong economy thanks to our mining boom, selling Iron Ore to China etc. I believe as the state grows people will obviously become more and more stressed due to the rat race of their lives....like Sydney. But for the time being its number one for me.

Australias friendliest state would have to be tasmania- where else can you love your cousin/ brother.. lol

actually every state has its fair share of arrogant people not to mention down right d1ckheads, but so far i have would have to say the ratio of good to bad is most prevelant in outback queensland- the same can be said for most rural locations, point blank there is no perceptions and barriers to the rural lifestyle hence they are more accepting and friendly...
