I will soon be a registered nurse in the UK and I am thinking about continuing my career in New South Wales, Australia. I was therefore wondering what the employment prospects were for foreign trained nurses in that area?

Also, how much does an average nurse in NSW earn yearly? and is it enough to live on?

You won't have any problems getting work - there's always a shortage of nurses.

I think your first step would be contacting the NSW Nurses' Association. - http://www.nswnurses.asn.au or http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/nursing/ for more info. Pay rates etc should be all on the site.

Good Luck ...

Really depends where your from and the circumstances. Canada nurses get paid very fair. The living expenses are very similar as well. I'd take a nursing job in Canada and vacation to Australia with your earnings.
