Hey! I am currently 8 wks. pregnant and living in LA right now. I have a good friend in Japan who has invited me to stay with her throughtout the pregnancy and I am seriously considering it. My boyfriend is in China right now (that's where we met). You may be wondering why I don't go to China, but I've lived there and I feel that my time was up there. I love my boyfriend but this would also give me an opportunity to see Japan. I would also be closer to my boyfriend by being in Japan as opposed to LA. What do you think about the healthcare in Japan? Do you think this is a smart move? Honesty is appreciated. Thanks!

There's a scene in the movie where Charlotte is walking alone in Kyoto, and she walks up to a tree that appears to be covered in white papers.

She wraps a piece around a branch and walks away.

Does anyone know what that means?
My thought is that perhaps the tree is like a wishing well, and people are writing down their wishes or prayers and wrapping them to the branches.

Although it's likely that I'm wrong, because I know nothing of Japanese culture / landmarks.

Alright basically I plan on working my butt off for the next year until I can save enough money to live out there. I have a few ideas of how this goes down, and I will tell you what I know, but hopefully someone can fill in the blanks or correct me??

Okay I plan on spending 400/mo on the house, and 150/mo on utilities and food, which I think will get me cable, dsl, water, electric, 3 bedroom house in the beach.....basically everything needed.

I am also wondering how to make friends out there?? Is it just like the USA where to go to bar or something?? I am white so will I be accepted like normal (hear on/off things)

I get a visa upon entrance, I get it extended 59 days, and during that 59 days I apply to get a year membership for 60/mo right??

I also planned on moving out there with money to pay for diving school/equipment since there arent any jobs out there available and this diving school would change that.

I dont know.....anything I missed or more info...please share!!

I have a couple electronic pachinko machines, a Nishijin "Elfin" and a Daiichi "3-One-Model".

A friend says the knob will only work if the machines are hooked up to a cash machine. That enables a servo or stepper motor, which operates the ball-driving mechanism.

I see the connectors where the cash machine interfaces. My question is, is it a simple job of electrically tying some digital inputs high/low, or would I need to emulate a more complex communication protocol (i.e. "act like a cash machine") to get the knob to work?

Or is there some other way to enable the motor elsewhere on the circuit board. (I am an engineer, so you do not need to simplify the explanation)

Thanks in advance!

I am 14 and hoping to get a dentistry degree in ten years, but for the moment I am learning japanese. Is there any sixth forms that you can study Japanese at in East Norfolk, any tutors in the east of Norfolk and the situation on dentists in Japan ?(because I have heard that the whole world needs dentists)
I am currently learning from a couple of internet sites and some books from the library. If anyone can give some book reccommendations to me too they will be gratefully received.

Thanks In Advance!!!
