Singapore's taxi fares one of the lowest as compared to the region and the developed/advanced world. Who is responsible of this problem ? Or is it the taxi companies for the expensive rental rate. Or is it the meter charging and surcharge rates were low ?Can our government help in controlling the prices to help the general public and our taxi drivers ? Are taxi drivers treated like those poor hard labourers that work very hard long hours and earn low wages. What are your suggestions ?

I would like to go to thailand, vietnam, cambodia, laos, and malaysia...has anyone gone to asia without all their flights booked, only to book it when they get there? If so, was it easy to do?
