The best in west malaysia is Pulau Tenggol of the coast OF Kuala Dungun.Trengganu.I,ve made more than 50 dive's there .Mostly deep dive 30 to 60 meters, at times Visibilty 20 to 30 meters.Water is beautiful. The seabed is undisturb. The island is a very remote, by speed boat appx. 30 min. There a resorts there. The dive cost excluding rental about RM50/ PER DIVE.Tioman is nothing compare to this island.Look at the website for malaysia.

My family do loves scuba diving too, Most of the time we just spend time at tioman in Pahang and Pulau Kapas in terengganu.
Last holiday, we did try a few island in Sabah, its really a breath taking nice to scuba and really safe.
Manukan island, is one of that. Try to visit sabah and you dont have to go anywhere else. There's just a few island nearby for scuba and very very quite peacefull with nature. I wont suggest langkawi, for me langkawi is too crowded and too busy. Maybe i havent been there for scuba im not sure. But i did go there just for a shopping. Others, try perhentian kecil and sibu island. Its nice too.

West coast-Langkawi and Pangkor
East Coast- Tioman, Sibu, Redang, Perhentian, Kapas & Tenggol

usually, the islands and beaches will be in their greatest conditions during certain period of time...like if it's on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia...the perfect time to visit will be during May-September while on the west coast, November-March...

There are not 10 islands to visit in Malaysia as a tourist. Tioman is the best of the lot in Malaysia. The others like Redang, Langkawi or Perhentian do not have as clean sand as Tioman.

I'd recommend you try other spots around South East Asia like Phuket or even Bali.
