I am visiting Singapore next week and I would like to get a present for a friend's birthday while I am there. Any suggestions (other than food - which I heard the city is known for) what I can get her? I was thinking perhaps something that is characteristic of the city, or anything that is possibly interesting and unique for a birthday gift. Thanks!

I have been invited to a Japanese wedding reception but literally my only connection is that I once played soccer with the groom, although he is part of the same Japanese company as I am.
