i was planning to visit a friend in bangkok but i postponed my trip due to the current situation..

I am in Bangkok. Everything is OK here. You can visit Bangkok as planned. I am sure you will be safe all the way. Take photos with the tanks and the soldiers if you see them around.

We're Ok. Come visit. Yesterday I saw on TV an Irish tourist was taking pictures with soldiers next to the tank. In Thailand only the second Saturday of the year that the arm forces roll out tanks for children to play and take pictures; they called it the children day.
Now, it's also a good opportunity for tourist to get pictures post with Thai soldiers in the tanks making another coup!!
It's quite safe, and pretty cool. The thing is I got close to some of the soldiers and their guns are not loaded. I wonder if they have bullets.
The next coup they probably use plastic gun.

a coup in Thailand is not the same as anywhere else. I live here, work here, and can assure you 1000% that it is safer than anywhere else in the world. the people are lovely, food delicious and in abundance.

I live upcountry.. today is a Buddha day.. My wife was up at 3 am preparing food for the monks.. - Life is totally normal..

its as per normal, only you see soldiers in town junctions.
