I've heard that a U.S. citizen can enter Canada at a land border crossing without a U.S. passport, but cannot reenter the U.S. without one. Does anyone have any info about this? A link to clear info would be appreciated.

i am staying near Carr Transpeninsular... or something like that .... but i would like to know if there are places around there that are not so expensive.... like the food and shopping....

My husband will be coming home in Nov. after doing a 15 month tour in Iraq. We are taking a vacation in Dec. but cant decide where to go...he just keeps telling me it doesnt matter as long as we are together (which i love hearing) but it doesnt help me with picking a place lol. We have a 15 year old son and we live at Fort Drum NY...so we will be driving where ever we go. I was thinking about Florida, but is December a good time to go there?
