My husband will be coming home in Nov. after doing a 15 month tour in Iraq. We are taking a vacation in Dec. but cant decide where to go...he just keeps telling me it doesnt matter as long as we are together (which i love hearing) but it doesnt help me with picking a place lol. We have a 15 year old son and we live at Fort Drum NY...so we will be driving where ever we go. I was thinking about Florida, but is December a good time to go there? Any ideas would be greatly aprreciated

December to February is the best time to be in Florida, the weather is mild and the humidity is gone. It's still warm enough to go to the beach and you will have a great time.

Hats off to your husband, we all owe him a great debt.

just a friend took the words right out of my mouth. I am going to Fl in late Nov. and have been before. As far as Disney (that is where we are going) I will NEVER go any other time. It is perfect! low crowds, mild weather. It could not be better!

Thank your husband for us. My family supports him and appreciates what he does for this country.

Check out the National Park Service's website. We plan all our trips around National Parks and it's a fun, inexpensive way to vacation. Plus, it will remind him of all the things he was fighting for while he was over there.

Steamtown USA in Scranton (PA) is great, as is Mammoth Caves NP in Kentucky. Charleston, SC is beautiful too.

Tell him "thanks" from the Smith family in PA!
