people think that im rich because i ski, but im really not, im one of the poorest kids in my school! the only reason y we can afford it ski is because my grandparents have a lot of skis and we use thoes, and then they have a house in colorado, and they get a bunch of free lift tickets because they work in this soup place at the top of the mountain.

so of i told you that i ski would you automatically think that im rich?

This year I don't have time to go on a trip to the Rockies, so I was wondering if there was a good ski resort/mountain near chicago or southern Wisconsin

I have snowboarded for 3 years and I am not a fan of regular skiing. I went to a big mountain like killington and I didn't do so well there on the snowboard but one of my friends had ski blades. That looked a lot easier to do. I am not gonna go out and buy a pair I might rent some but I was wondering if it is worth the try or just to stick to snowboarding. I am just looking for some opinions. Thanks

I tore my ACL within the first two hours of my first snow skiing experience. Now I am scared to try it again (with some professional help of course) but I want to know if there is anyone out there with the same experience and how was snow skiing with a bum knee (after surgery). [I had surgery about a year ago]

Hi, this doesnt have to be in context of ski's but i just thought it is a good example. Is the persons weight spread equally over the ski, and thus snow or is there more weight on the ski below the persons body than on the outskirts of the ski?
I would guess the later but just would like to know for certain.

cheers

I live in the UK (Canterbury) and I have never been skiing/snowboarding or anything like that and I’m planning a ski trip in Vermont next year with my dad, he lives in New York.

We are going to rent ski’s and any other equipment but apart from that I don’t have a clue. What clothes do I need to buy? How much do I need to budget for them? I was thinking around £300 per person. Where is the best place to buy ski clothes on the high-street or the Internet? Additionally if anyone knows the best outlets for New York / US that would be a bonus.

Thank you very much to anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Hi Guys
I'm going to perisher blue for a week of skiing, from the 1st-7th of July. I've been looking at the snow cams/lift reports etc on the website, and so far only Front Valley is open for use. I'm just looking for any insight/comments on the liklihood of other slopes being opened before the 1st of July, from anyone who knows anything about snow conditions, or has had some experience with perisher. Thanks a lot!
