Himalayas. Tien Shan in China. Pretty much anywhere in North China. Japan, particularly Hokkaido but the mountains in Honshu have snow. Or North America or Europe.
I suspect the earlier answerers are from the US. As they have not yet invaded Singapore they have not had the traditional American way of learning geography.

A few nice places would be Canada, where they get some snow and its also a decent place to vacation. In the US, the northeast (New England) states get some pretty good snow and if you were planning on skiing, Killington is always a good bet, and there's even better snow out west. Vail is a good ski resort and Steamboat is family oriented and will probably be better for 8/9 yearolds

Lake Placid, New York. the 1980 and 1932 Olympics were held there and I go there for hockey tournement every year in december and it's like a snowglobe that someone shakes every 2 hours. Don't worry there isn't a tournement then

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There is tonnes for children to do in the winter. Hockey, ice skating, sledding, skiing, snowmen, snowball fights. There is also good shopping, accomodations, and access to everything. All at reasonable prices too.
