In the Northern Hemisphere? Chances are slim. Unless there is an early fall dump you are not going to find much. Most resorts aren't even ready to open that early.

Killington begins making snow about the last week of October and so does Okemo, but it's only one run and it's man made.

That doesn't mean you can't get lucky and have an early snow. People were skiing Mt. Mansfield (Stowe) last year in early October thanks to an unexpected 12 inch snowfall.

Best bet for snow in October is to look south (like below the equator) and pick up some of New Zealand's or Chile's leftovers. Can't say it's going to be good. Never skiied there but friends say Chile in August is like Colorado in February...so my guess October there would be like Colorado in April.

Alaska might be another bet. Try calling an Alaskan resort.

There probably wont be a lot of places that have snow during that time of year. Its almost the end of winter right now in the southern hemisphere and they will be going into spring soon. I dont know when it starts snowing in Norway, Sweeden, Northern Russia, the Alps in Switzerland, but I think those are some places to look at for the possibility of snow that early in Northern Hemisphere. You can also try Alaska.

Well I would go to Colorado or Utah or somewhere out West... If you could go out of the US, then Canada has a few nice resorts. But in the country, you should be able to find snow out west... It might not be great snow but better than nothing

in the journey that your a newbie then what concerns is how good the snow boarding college is. Any greater effective ski motel could have a good snow boarding college. you ought to bypass to Colorado, Utah, Lake Tahoe, Idaho (sunlight Valley), Vermont or Maine. Any of them ought to accommodate somebody at your point. it is totally uncommon for a ski section to be open beforehand Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November). maximum do no longer upward thrust as much as comprehensive steam till closer to Christmas/New Years. a marvelous form of the motels interior the western US place self belief in organic snow. So, whilst they open easily relies upon on what falls from the sky. maximum motels interior the jap US use a marvelous form of synthetic snow, so as that they choose chilly climate. as far as a results of fact the terrific place to ski, the snow in west has a tendency to be dry, much less ice and plenty much less complicated to flow in. The east "can" be icy. it is not uncommon interior the east for a snow hurricane to end with rain, so the snow would properly be hit or omit. i think of the main relaxing place is south shore at Lake Tahoe, in specific Heavenly Valley. The snow is powerful, and that they get a marvelous form of it. The view on the western area of the ski section is of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Mountains, the view on the jap area of the ski section (specific you may bypass on the two facets of the mountain) is the Nevada barren region. At night you have have been given each and every of the casinos on the Nevada area to play in.
