I am going with one beginner snowboarder and I am beginner-to-intermediate myself. We are spending 1.5 days at Heavenly and the resort is huge, so I want to make sure we spend our time wisely and not get hurt ;-)

I recently purchased fairly high end new ski's. Im 6'1" 235 pounds. The ski's are 170's. 3 years and 30 pounds ago I skied regularly and had no problems. However lately half way through the first run my legs buckle violently underneath me causing a lot of pain. Is it an issue with the ski's or am I just out of shape?

I have recently gotten into downhill/alpine skiing. I am wondering what equipment should you have to ski comfortably, and also, if you have any, tips for skiing and getting better at it. Any websites with any of this would be helpful as well.
Thanks for your time!

Hi Guys. If I have a chance to go skiing at Lake Loiuse or FERNIE BC, which would be the preferred choice?? I am not really into the crowds in Banff..but the best skiing is the ultimate goal. I HATE groomed trails. I like lots of powder and glades and that type of thing.

Thanks in advance

I want to know if anyone has tried it and how it worked. I'm a racer, so I would like the fastest wax without paying too much/ using an iron and all that. Also, how important is it to get the right temperature wax? If it's 15*F out, and I use wax rated from 22-34*F, how will they be. It can't be that bad can it?

Is there anything I can put on the bottom of my skis to make them glide over the snow faster? I've found that my friend tends to pick up speed and retain that speed much faster and longer when we glide next to each other on the snow. He's got a different brand of skis, but what would make his faster than mine and how can I catch up?

i have been skiing for 6 years and have recently discovered snowblading, and found that they are easier and i can maneuvre better. overall, im more confident in them and think my moves are smoother. so i fell in love with them and think not going back to skiing again. could u please tell me why they are so unpopular among skiing population? is it the fact that its for fun and its not professional? but im not a professional skier and do it for fun only!
Thanx!!

I have already partially asked this, but I hope to go go Vail this April and would like to know the best runs to hit, be it a secret or designated trail. Please be specific, as I have researched enough to know that "back bowls" are good. I love cruisers and trees, and
any isolated areas or powder stashes would be great to know about.
I don't particularly like steeps, although I can handle anything.

I desperately want to ski Vail for the last week it's open (April 8-15) but I want to spend no more than $3500 dollars. My group has three adults and one child (who skis free). I want a five-day ticket for one adult and a child, a rental car, a flight from Baltimore, MD, and lodging close to the slopes. Any recommendations? Also, if you wish, I would like to know from a Vail veteran where the best places to hit would be. We can ski any terrain, but don't prefer steeps. Thank you in advance for any answers!
