Keystone Resort - Colorado.
Keystone is usually the first US ski resort open, there's plenty of great lift ticket and lodging packages, tons of snowmaking if it's a dry fall, loads of shops and restaurants and an outstanding ski school.
It's not my favorite resort, but it's definitely the one that best suits your needs...

You are taking a chance by skiing in November. If you are on the east coast Killingotn or Hunter are usually open with limited terrain. Before you go, be sure to check to see how many trails are open and how much snow making the resort has done. Good Luck!

Breckenridge is a great place to begin skiing. It has one of the best ski towns in the nation, and opens November 9.

I would most definitely recommend the Snowbird Ski Resort in Snowbird, Utah.

Nowhere in the east will be open in November.
Out west, some places will be open maybe at the earliest around November 20th.
Except Mt. Hood. I guess that is your best shot.
