I own a Remington 721 .30-06 and a Remington 597 .22. Along with the rifles, I own a Barska Huntmaster Pro scope and a USA made Weaver K4. Which scope would work best on which rifle? Thanks!

Since I met my fiance just about 5 years ago, I got into the whole hunting/eating deer meat thing. I've eaten it the way it came for years, but I wanted to try something different. I found out how to take the gamey taste out of venison and upon pushing this idea on him, a conflict arose:

Does taking the gamey taste out of venison basically take away the whole concept of eating deer meat? He says, "The gamey taste IS venison. Otherwise [he] could go to the store and buy regular beef."

I'm wondering mainly because it's an over pressure round and I don't want to put too much stress on my High Power. (I want my guns to last a life time, I clean and maintain them regularly)

The ones that are originally sewn onto the tramp, holding the springs. A few have ripped off and I was wondering if there was a way to fix them. The material is FAR to thick to actually sew them back on myself. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Looking for a nice bolt-action rifle that can take down a deer. I dont have a lot of experience with bolt action but i do a lot of duck hunting with some friends. I have a 8shot 12ga pump action that i bought from big5 so you can tell i'm not into the very expensive guns. But for this gun i want to be. Also i have a 16 yr old son that wants to go hunting whats a good gun for him? Hes not the strongest 16 yr old out there so i was thinking something light for him.

You were allowed only a single handgun for everything; home security, self defence, sport etc etc (basically whatever you use a handgun for at the moment).

Money is no issue. Would you pick a semi-auto or a revolver, in what calibre, and why?

I have a Cutco and an Mtech. They are both terrible knives and I am looking for a new one.
Where can I find a great knife for under $150?
I used to have a Broten and I miss it but it was soo expensive.
I'd love to hear about your opinions and Dealers. Please include facts about the knife and not just your opinions, but I'd love to hear too, your expirience with the knife and how its lasted over the years.

I just heard about little Alexis Coggins on Paul Harvey.

She was a seven year old girl who jumped between her Mom and convicted felon boyfriend when boyfriend was trying to shoot her.

Alexis was shot six times in the head and neck with a 9 mmP pistol and Mom was hit three times.

Both Alexis and her Mom have survived and will recover.

Any one still think that the 9 mm Parabellum is a great fightstopping cartridge?

Give me a .357 Mag, a .44 S&W SPL, or a .45, LC or ACP!

I am looking in to a small revolver or semi-auto for self defence and it seems that many Taurus models are near identical to S&W equivalents, but for half the price; are they less reliable, do they fall apart after a year or something?

Thanks.

I've heard that a 12 gauge shotgun slug and buckshot kick more than some of the high power rifles (.458 Winchester). I had a hard time believing this and just wanted to see what you all thought about it.

Hi from England. I have a serious question about revolvers and am hoping that there is someone on here who knows a little about handguns.

Basically I'm writing a short story that features a modern-day Private Detective, kind of like a 21st Century Sam Spade. I want him to have the traditional snub-nosed revolver that fits in your pocket and have been glancing over the more well-known manufacturer's websites looking for a suitable model to write about.

I've discovered Smith and Wesson do a good few models that fit the bill in .38 calibre but have a couple of issues I'd like cleared up-

What would the effective range, roughly, be of these weapons used by a fair (note: not great, just fair/ good) marksman?

Several seem to have their hammers hidden inside the frames; what does this do and is it neccessarily and better or worse than the traditional exposed hammer? Are they more or less prone to accident?

There is also a split between wood and rubber handles- which is the most durable and longest-lasting?

I'm just curious as I want to be accurate- thanks!
