no, they are pretty darned resistant to temps both hot and cold. and no, they aren't just "plastic". The frame is polymer with metal reinforcements at key points, the slide etc are all metal. In the early guns, I did hear of some problems with extreme cold causing a dropped glock to break at the grip, but that was many years ago, and I never saw it first hand. You can contact glock online to find out what temps they firearms are able to handle, I'm sorry I don't have those figures handy, I'm right in the middle of moving to our new home and most of my stuff is packed.
Good question though.

From sunlight, no. They (real ones) are NOT made from aluminum. I don't believe there is ANY aluminum in them except for the serial number tag, which I believe is steel, as are most of the metal internals. There are quite a few polymer parts inside as well.
The frame IS polymer. Not many people call the Glock pretty. However, I trust my life to one every day at work and there are few pistols more reliable, especially for the price.
They ARE safe. Just keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to actually fire.

No actually Glock firearms are very durable and they are not fabricated of 100% plastic. This gun has a mixed polymer that is very strong and isnt suceptible to being melted by sunlight.

um no? Do you realize how hot barrels get when firing? Trust me it's not going to just melt under any normal circumstances. They've tested Glocks in deserts and controlled environments and a hell of a lot of other places and conditions, no Glock is going to melt. MMkay

It would take much much more heat than sunlight to melt the polymer framed Glock.

They are made of a polymer plastic and can be melted : ) The sun is not an "easy" thing to recreate, but it wouldn't take the heat of the sun to melt a Glock. They are harder to melt than regular plastic, but not harder to melt than other metallic substances. They do have some metal parts but are mostly (the outside) made of plastic, but not like your kid's toys. It is lightweight and extremely durable, but exposed to fire would melt at a certain point. Probably around 500 degrees, maybe 1000 Fahrenheit.

Are you refering to a cheap imitation airsoft weapon?
The real ones are made from alluminium, and stainless steel internals.
Good luck melting that one
