OK...You can hop on an OPEN PARTY fishing boat. the difference between open party and charter is that an open party is open to anyone who wishes to go fishing. when you charter a boat, you pay for the whole boat and invite anyone who wishes to come along. ones that i would recommend would be http://spitfiresportfishing.com/

In So. Cal, for one person the way to go is on one of the party boats. In the summer, these can be crowded, but in the winter, especially on a weekday, there'll be plenty of room on the boats. Prices will vary with the length of the trip, from around $35 for a half day on up. License, rental tackle, and food is extra.

If you're chartering a boat for yourself, expect to pay at least $500, maybe 2 or 3 times as much, depending on the boat and the trip length.

Check your area out for head boat charters that can last from 4 to 18 hours even more if wanted!

Oquinquit, Maine

All those charter boats there will definitely put you on big fish.

If you want to be the only fisherman on the boat, expect to pay about $ 450.00 & up, for an 8 hour trip.
if you are intrested in going out on a head boat ( usually 25 or more people per trip) , you can probably get by, for only $ 75.00 to $ 100.00 for the trip
