Do you support the passage of a new law, which would mandate the use of "trigger locks" and hold gun owners criminally responsible if their gun is used in a crime, even if the gun is stolen? Yes.....or....No

I have never in my life shot a gun, but it's something that has sparked my interest lately. I just want suggestions on a good hand gun for someone to learn to shoot with.

I got a 680 fps crosman air rifle. It can dent or not, even go through them. I was just wondering, can a co2 operated handgun (400 fps) kill a person?

Can guns that shoot out yellow plastic bbs kill someone too? Like 350 FPS (AKs, MP5s, M4) THX

I had some great answers to my last question about crossbows. I did my homework and decided I want a Horton or Barnett and that I want a 150 or 175 lb. bow. I am leaning towards the Horton line. I notice there are different models such as the Legend, Legacy, Team Realtree, and Hunter, all of which I may be interested in. They all offer 150 and 175lb models--but what is the difference between them other than the name? Does anyone know? Please provide as much information as possible, or as they say, "tell me like i'm a 5 year old."

How is it that the gunman at Virginia Tech managed to kill 33, making it the school largest massacre ever when he only had two hand guns: A Walther 22-caliber pistol and a Glock 19, yet the killer at Omaha had an AK-47 and only managed to kill nine. One would think that the assault rifle would have the capability to inflict more damage than two handguns would. Is it for reasons that a mall is a wider open space for people to run away, whereas a school building is enclosed with people boxed in? Or is it that a rifle is sloppier and the gunman wasn't required to take such careful aim? I do not know much about firearms or physics. Could somebody with experience offer a theory?

Yesterday my Dad and I went to our local shooting range and we shot our Ruger Mark III .22 pistol and the range officer was telling my Dad how in the old military manuals it said that oil won't stick to a spot and it will all pile up in one spot and how grease will stay where its applied.

My Dad thinks that this guy isn't keeping up with times because this guy was old (we use Rem Oil) so who is correct?

But I never see them running around where I live. Do you know where is the best place to hunt these things? They are so chewy and delicious - I love to have them with breakfast.

I am getting ready to start deer hunting next season and this tradition is really freaking me out. Will the guides "make" me drink or smear the blood on my face?

Or is this some movie/internet rumor I'm buying into?

When in your treestand, do you notice a difference when you are chewing tobacco or rubbing snuff .. as to whether you get a better chance of deer or not? I've read, some who quit .. find more deer around their treestand more often.

Just saw "No Country for Old Men"

1. The story takes place in 1980. They have a Heckler & Koch short barrelled submachinegun that wasn't available at that time.

2. The bad guy uses a black synthetic stock on a shotgun that wasn't available at that time.

3. The bad guy uses a silenced shotgun. Naval ordinance tried to make one of these for the Navy SEALS. It ended up looking like a three foot length of five inch pipe. What the bad guy uses looks like a large can of beans.

How will taking away assault weapons prevent or even impact any crime, when crime is committed with illegal/stolen weapons?

When you disarm the public, you make it much easier for the criminals to gain the upper hand. Are you willing to throw away your own rights to protection?

Most people cannot even define an assault weapon. It is no different in function from normal hunting rifles, only looks.

Weapons are an essential to personal defense. Had public shoppers at that Wyoming mall been armed, the death count might have just been lower. Politicians seek to ignore such facts.

I urge all of those who are not willing to hand away their personal rights of the Constitution of the United States to please sign the petition against the assault weapons ban. It is a small amount of time that you can give to say that you stood up for your rights as an American. Do not let politicians walk on you any longer.

The petition can be found here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/40989834

i live in california, can i buy someone a legal gun (30-06 rifle) as a present for someone? or is there gonna be tons of paperwork and legal issues?

Alright, I know it is illegal to purchase a handgun if you are under 21, since this is a Federal Law. But, somebody at my hunt club said that it was legal to own a handgun even if you were not 21. He also said that I could purchase one from a private citizen and it would be legal.

This just seems awefully cloudy to me. I am hoping someone can clear this up. It it matters, I reside in Virginia.

Also, I have no intentions to buy a pistol now anyways, just trying to become literate on this subject.

Thanks In Advance!
