The Carbine you are describing is manufactured by Israeli Arms International. The Carbines are made with IAI manufactured receivers and U.S. G.I. surplus barrels and parts. If you want an inexpensive GI Clone/Parts Carbine you can't go wrong for $300..Considering that the DCM (U.S. Department of Civilian Marksmanship) prices start at $600 for a "Rack" grade re-worked M1-Carbine..

For $300, it's worth it. Definitely!
IAI makes new "frankenguns" with US GI parts kits on their own frames and wood. The frames can be from any of about a half dozen diff countries judging by what's turning up, but they're great guns put together in great fashion.
It's as close to a "new" M! carbine as most folks will ever get....and you don't have to feel bad about shooting the hell out of it.
I've heard of firing pins and operating rods sometimes breaking....but that's not anything out of the ordinary with milsurp weapons....and parts are cheap and common. If yours is used, it's had all the bugs worked out.
I'd go for it and not look back.

The M1 carbine was a good gun and one in good condition is certainly worth what the persin is asking. Without seeing it, no one can tell you if it really is in good condition. Ask the seller if you can take it to a gunsmith to have him look at it to tell you what condition it is in. There are a lot of things on the inside that might not be in such good condition as the outside might suggest. If it actually is in good condition, grab it.

Buy it immediately. They typically go for around 500 plus. While individual specimens could very well be junk, in general they are highly regarded. They were the standard issue rifle during the second world war (by the united states), and not only are they nice guns, but its like owning a little piece of history.

Hi this is Tom ,,the m1 carbine is one of the rifles used by our boys to chase the warmongers back to their own countries in ww 2 ,, they are great gun's ,BUT you should have 1 checked out by a gun smith ,if you know one the years could have put the damage on it pretty good.. NOW there are some places that have them stored in grease like the 2 i have they're in great shape,,it took me 8 hours just to clean 1 of them up & their are no short cuts if you want things to work out right. look up j&g sales .com you can ge world war 2 rifles for 65 to a 150 dollars. they have hand select ,, for 10$ extre ,,yes its worth it,,but you have to have to have an ffl license to buy them. ...sorry ,,but the point im trying to make is just go & look you'll see the difference.. If you live around Brownsville P A .. look me up.

Buy the gun, it's not really powerful enough for deer hunting but they make a good home defense gun and the prices are going crazy. I've seen some selling for upwards of $800.00. The military versions are bringing the most money, but I haven't seen any sell that cheep in years.
