When in your treestand, do you notice a difference when you are chewing tobacco or rubbing snuff .. as to whether you get a better chance of deer or not? I've read, some who quit .. find more deer around their treestand more often.

I would suspect any odor regardless of source will spook deer away from you.
I can smell tobacco on those who chew, dip, and smoke, and a deer has a far more acute nose than I do.
It would also depend on your location, as many deer are living literally in our back yard and smell us and our bad habits every minute of every day, and as such we would just be another familiar smell to them.

Depending on region of the country, I have hunted in Kentucky were large tobaco fields are prevalent and deer seem not to spook at the smell of my hunting partners who chew constantly, but when he visits me in California and he chews we never seem to have a single sighting. So I would say it comes down to Natural habitat and the level of caution on the deer to approach some thing unfamiliar to their territory. Which isn't very often.

I have found that when you finish an apple and toss it a ways away that the deer are attracted to it. But sorry I don't chew.

Deer have a good sense of smell... so if they smell something they are not use to like cigarettes and someone chewing tobacco....they will stay away.... now food is a different story.... food will attract them....
