I love hunting birds, so I want to buy a new pump action (or semi-automatic) for hunting , I know somebody will tell me not to buy a pump action, but I asked lots of people who advised me to buy a pump action. So I want to know which one to buy because i'm confused between all the brands .
Thanks a lot for your help.

Does any one have the load data for WW-571 ball powder for 20 gauge?
Also I think (clearing cob webs in the brain) that there were pistol data for it? Maybe .357, .38spl or .44.spl and .44 mag?

Thanks.
Please include source.

Want to spend under $300 and heard CVA is no good. Want 209 ignition as I will hunt in all weather. Accuracy is obviously the most important thing to me with all the open field. I will not take a shot I don't feel comfortable with but something good out to around 200 meters or more would be best. Initially was thinking Knight or TC. So many choices nowadays, what are your opinions?

I went to Walmart the other day and noticed they have a new scope on the shelfs here, its a Center Point 3-9x40 scope, its got a mil-dot reticle, and looks realy realy nice. I did some searching and cant find much of anything on these scopes. I need to know if they are any good. I mean I did look through the scope and it seems pretty bright, but I want to know about durability. I know you get what you pay for, but this scope looks BA. It would go on a Remington 700 ADL, .243 win.
You guys know anything about these scopes??

I want to but one, but the ones that were made after this year are not as powerful because of the 12'' flame regulation. The force of the bullet is weakened due to all the escaping pressure.

Something bad happened in my town today. A 14 year old boy shot and killed a cat with a Marksman BB pistol he got for Christmas today. Today was the parent's return to work. Perhaps because it was only a $17 "toy" that only shoots @ 250 fps they left him home alone with it. Obviously they had no idea what he'd do first chance he got.
From what I've heard, he stalked it and shot it. Then he pursued it again and shot it several times in the course of the afternoon. What a cruel torturous murder. Makes me sick.
Here's the best part we can thank the nimrod AND his parents for, the cat was owned by his DEMOCRAT alderman! You know this will help push through ordinances that limit our RIGHT to bear arms. We can be our own worst enemy.
What can we do to prevent such horrible criminal acts perpetrated by unsupervised minors? What can I say it city council meeting to assure them this will not happen again? Thanks for your intelligent input.

I was looking at the basic gun laws for each state and noticed NY says you can't buy a handgun if you have ever "suffered any mental illness"

Does this mean a 28 year old woman wouldn't be allowed to own a handgun because she suffered from postpartum depression when she had a kid at 18?

Does this mean if someone, as a child, is diagnosed with the popular ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which occurs in up to 10% of the population accoding to the National Institutes of Health, they're not allowed to own a handgun in NY?

Does this mean if someone suffers from one of the many anxiety disorders, such as Acrophobia (fear of heights), Claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces), Arachnophobia (fear of spiders), that they're not allowed to own a handgun in NY? A study by the National Institute of Mental Health found that up to 18% of the population suffers from these types (phobias) of anxiety disorders and are the #1 most common mental illness for women, #2 for men over 25.

I can not find the reloading data for Winchester/ Western 571 ball powder. It was discontinued some time ago. All my old reloading books were stolen some time ago and it doesn’t show in the newer powder data manuals. Googled it and couldn’t find much. Need shotgun data and I think some pistol rounds used it, so that data if possible.
And of course I need factory data not guesses or hearsay data.

Aslo Alcan shotgun powder AL-120. This one will be a bugger as they sold out to another company years ago.

Just hate to waste 2 lbs of good powder.

Know where I can find this data?

I had read an article where a competition shooter used mobil 1 synthetic oil on a 1911. Is there any reason this would be a bad choice? I would tent to believe that motor oil would be ok since 3,000 miles equils a whole lot more abuse than 300 rounds at the range. If you think about it a pistol cycling 300 times would be like idiling your engine for 20 seconds.
