I went to Walmart the other day and noticed they have a new scope on the shelfs here, its a Center Point 3-9x40 scope, its got a mil-dot reticle, and looks realy realy nice. I did some searching and cant find much of anything on these scopes. I need to know if they are any good. I mean I did look through the scope and it seems pretty bright, but I want to know about durability. I know you get what you pay for, but this scope looks BA. It would go on a Remington 700 ADL, .243 win.
You guys know anything about these scopes??

Center Point scopes are junk. I have one mounted on my Savage Model 12FLV .22-250. The glass clarity is poor and the eye relief is horrible.

I agree with you that the scope looks BA, but any hunter or target shooter will tell you.......That is the last thing you need to worry about. You need a good quality scope, with good glass clarity and eye relief. When it comes to scopes..... Don't cut corners to save a buck. You truly get what you pay for.

I just bought a Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40mm scope to replace the junk of scope that Center Point is. Once I get the Leupold mounted..... I'm going to shoot the heck out of the Center Point scope.

Save yourself the headaches and save your money and buy a good quality scope. You'll be happy you did.

Some scopes to look at are...... Nikon, Bushnell, Leupold etc.... The list goes on. Stay away from Center Points and NC Stars.

Center Points are renamed Leapers brand. It's air gun scopes.
Bushnell, Leuopld, Simmons are the more reliable names for scopes out there. But, they're kinda pricey. If you want a very good scope that doesen't cost you an arm and a leg, take a look at these scopes.

Very good scopes and tough.

First off you didn't notice, but this scope you are looking at is recommended for an AirGun and not a REAL Centerfire Rifle like a 243 caliber (CenterPoint is Chinese). They are poor quality imports and totally undependable. You need to spend a few dollars more at look at Bushnell,Simmons, or Nikon scopes to get the best scope for your money.

When it comes to scopes, you will get EXACTLY what you pay for...Buy cheap, get cheap. There is no way around it. I would say you can buy a decent scope for around $100+ but I would not recommend you going any cheaper. Your Remington will not perform to it's ability with cheap optic's.
Good Luck with whatever you choose, but frankly I would pass on this one in a heartbeat......Walmart is not a good source for decent scopes.....

All scopes are good.* It all depends on how much you want to spend when you buy one.*
