Uhhh..... NO!

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.(Genesis Chapter 1 vs 26)

and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.(Genesis Chapter 1 vs 28)

Gen.27
[1] And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
[2] And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
[3] Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;
[4] And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

(1 Timothy 4:3-4 King James Version)
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

(Acts 10 vs 9-16)
9 The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour [2] to pray. 10 And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance 11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” 15 And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” 16 This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.

(Matthew 10:31)
"Fear not, for you are worth many sparrows"

The list goes on and on. With the charge placed upon us with our dominion over the animals, it becomes our RESPONIBILITY to manage these animals in a humane manner. Not hunting means starving critters. I'd rather be shot than starve myself. It also means that those animals are being used in sustenance and not being wasted. I'd rant a while on this but you probably wouldn't change your hippie mind anyway. Go away now, Jesus hates the smell of patchouli!!!
EDIT: By the way, if it weren't for the conservation groups spearheaded by hunters, your cuddly wuddly tigers would be extinct by now. You are welcome.

I still don't know why people think hunting is a sport. I love hunting. Just like I think rock climbing is not a sport. I think of it as more of a pastime. I also hunt with the pastor of my church, and the principle of my churches school. So if it's so sinful and against the bible, why do they do it? Also, I read in another answer here in the past few days, so i can't take credit for it, but it says it all.....No hunter has to apologize for hunting anytime, anywhere and to anyone. Bunny huggers be gone

It doesn't matter if I believe in the bible or not .
No doubt killing creatures is an unliked thing; but when you see that the Lion kills the zebra to eat it, and the tiger hunt the beef to dine it; you don't keep thinking if It's really ok to hunt animals or not. This is the Nature.
My opinion is that I shouldn't hunt lots of animals just for fun, No ! But to benefit of their fur or leather, their meet...
I'm With hunting to have fun and benefit from the animals in the same time, But i'm not with killing animals for no reason and leave them thrown on the land.
I love hunting a lot, and especially flying animals.

It depends on the animal and the sport. If, for instance, you were hunting an animal purely for trophies, but you donated the meat to charity (which hunters do, hundreds of thousands of pounds of game meat a year) then I think Jesus would most certainly smile down you. If you are hunting wolves and coyotes, for instance, because they are a danger to humans livestock and carry diseases, then I see nothing in the bible that would be against that. Killing just to kill is wrong in my book, although it would be hard to find anything in the bible against it.

No. Read the Bible & enlighten yourself on animal sacrifices in the name of the Lord, for celebration, Holy days, weddings, births. etc. While all life is precious, without sport hunting animal population would be out of control, crops destroyed, autos damaged & the possiblity of people being attacked. Sport hunters serve a role in maintaining animal herds, not to mention the $ made off of the purchase of the license, a large portion of which goes to environmetal conservation.

I believe you are referring to the ten commandments? The dumbed down version for weak minded individuals has it "written as thou shall not kill". A more accurate translation is "thou shall not commit murder". Learn the book before you start using it to rationalize your prejudices.

I fail to see how the bible can say thou shall not kill and have animal sacrifices spaced throughout. To me that would be a hypocritical as someone decrying another person's ethical and legal pastime while living an urban lifestyle unsustainable by any means other than environmental degradation.

1. God ate animals
2. Hunting animals purely for sport is illegal in the United States. According to the department of natural resources "it is illegal to waste the edible portion of any game animal or game fish"
3. It certainly is fair. Wild animals hearing and sense of smell is 10-100 times better than any humans. They have more of a chance against a human hunter than they do with OTHER WILD ANIMALS THAT WANT TO KILL AND EAT THEM

4. Eating animals is linked to intelligence. Predatory animals tend to be more intelligent than prey animals. Examples... cats, wolves, and bears are more intelligent than deer, rabbits, and turkey

Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone?

Have you not sinned? no pre-marital sex? no hatred, no jealousy, no spite?

Hunting is just part of nature, and has been there since day 1.

If it was wished, the Bible would specifically contain a passage about 'thou shalt not hunt or kill ANY living thing' But then this would include those beans you eat, wouldnt it?

Thou shalt not kill is I humbly think, VERY obvious, as we all know, we all FEEL no matter who we are that killing another human is no joke....yet we have all squashed bugs, and half of us probably have had to kill an animal to put it out of its misery even. Im sure we all have some degree of remorse, whether we show it or not, but nobody sane would imagine they will go to hell or what have you.......only someone who needs psychiatric help would be this way. And nobody sane would imagine others will be cursed because the others do something they dont like or agree with........its a free World.

-However, on the subject of the bible, and not killing, hating or being spiteful, not wishing evil unto others......people that go in for PETA etc and wish to attack kill or hurt hunters etc to support their views, they will of course go to hell.......sorry, where does it say in the bible that you may injur attack or KILL another human because you dont agree with his/her ways??? where does it say 'And thou shalt hate, wound or kill any man or woman that will hunt an animal or do another thing you dont like'????

REMEMBER, it is YOU that are sinners, if you fit the above description. Jesus handed out fish to the people........though you may not give a damn about fish because they arent cuddly, they too are animals with feelings.

God bless.

genuinely no longer. God gave guy dominion over the beasts of the sector and the hen of the air and the fish interior the sea. God in no way commanded otherwise or revoked guy this dominion. for this reason i do no longer think of that's a "sin." even with the actuality that i in my view do no longer hunt for activity as i've got faith that's a wasteful activity and serves no smart objective, I do hunt for the two food and pest administration from time to time. i'm nevertheless searching a submit to which attacked my Labrador puppy. I enjoy hunting but I never go hunting as a sport. I always enjoy eating what I kill. There are too many people who hunt for horns and there are even more that don't like to eat what they kill. These types of hunters are total jerk offs.
